The day has finally arrived. The Caravan has arrived at its final destination. All roads on Hot and Sultry Sunday would be leading to the Dr. D.Y.Patil Stadium Navi Mumbai. IPL2010 has reached its concluding night.
I heard that there is craze in Chennai to grab whatever tickets are up for the grabs and I am sure the noise levels at the stadium would be at a peak. It would be interesting to check for Noise Pollution at the Stadium.
Theres going to be a lot of Tamasha other than Cricket as well with Music Maestro-A R Rahman belting out musical melodies from 6 pm onwards. Even Popular Cine Star Hritik Roshan will be there bending his body to the tunes of AR. Lethal combination this.
Coming back to the Match I guess there is little to choose between the teams if Sachin is out of the equation because of his injured hand. His mere presence would definitely be a big boost for the Mumbai Indians Dug out. Without Sachin, my money would be on Chennai Super Kings who look strong on paper. However Hayden is woefully out of form and don’t be surprised to see a change in the Opening Batsmen for the Chennai Super Kings. I would also be under the impression that this could be the last we are seeing of legends like Hayden,Gilchrist,Kumble,Sourav.
Mumbai Super Kings could spring a surprise by allowing Pollard to open the innings in case Sachin is ruled out and we should see battle royale between Bollinger and Pollard. there will be battles within battles and watch out for the sparring between Dhoni and Harbhajan. Murali and Rayudu/Pollard.
There will be adrenalin flowing and occasional stares and angry glances will be exchanged, all a part of the game. Whoever wins today this will be the first occasion in the History of IPL that an Indian Captain would be lifting the glittering trophy. Being a native of the city I would be rooting for the Chennai Super Kings though I will support for Sachin my Hero as long as he is at the crease.
Lots will happen Post the IPL including the enquiry into the financial irregularities and the scandals involving Lalit Modi, there’s much to be asked and much to be answered, but let’s enjoy the game first and coronate the new IPL champions.
